You know, common sense would dictate that the “/” in these song titles below would mean that they are two songs thrown into one, or two songs just on the same track. However, only Fleet Foxes and The Decemberists songs can be seen that way. Instead, the slash titles could be due to band arguments over song titles, thematic decisions, or just “hey I wrote this song, so this is what I’m gonna name it … deal with it.” Either way, here are 7 great songs with two titles (and if you only listen to one of these songs, check out the SSLYBY track at the very top, it’s one of my very favorites).
Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin – Sink/Let it Sway
Fleet Foxes – The Shrine/An Argument
Chad VanGaalen – No Panic/No Heat
Pavement - Trigger Cut/Wounded-Kite at :17
Bon Iver – Beth/Rest
Or check out the stellar SNL performance here.
Cloud Nothings – No Future/No Past
The Decemberists – California One/Youth and Beauty Brigade

That Fleet Foxes video is so great. The song is amazing until it gets all noisy and weird with the horns and shit. The first half though, maybe “The Shrine,” is golden. GOLDEN, sir.
